The Addressing Anti-Black Racism in Practice and Pedagogy course supports educators in cultivating school and classroom environments that enhance joy, build positive racial identity development, and arm learners’ experiences and identities. It equips educators with skills to confront systemic racism in education.
Participants explore historical and current anti-Black racism's impact on outcomes and student experiences. Emphasis is on culturally responsive pedagogy and inclusive practices for effective support of Black students. Strategies cover creating anti-racist environments, addressing biases, and implementing culturally affirming practices. Practical applications include developing inclusive curricula and collaborating for educational equity.
By course end, educators will be empowered to advocate for systemic change, with enhanced competencies in anti-Black racism, promoting inclusivity, and fostering supportive learning environments.
