The Teacher Librarian Part 1 course will explore the pedagogical underpinnings of the Library Learning Commons (LLC) and the role the Teacher Librarian (TL) plays as an ally and advocate to center and empower all voices, interests, and abilities. Utilizing various inquiry and research models, participants will strengthen their professional efficacy by gaining in-depth knowledge of federal, provincial and Board related policies and frameworks. Participants will refine their professional judgment and generate new pedagogies for practice in Library Learning Commons environments to dismantle and disrupt colonial narratives, practices and resources. Through ongoing self-reflection and documentation, each module will culminate in the creation and/or addition to a learning portfolio to consolidate strategies that build community amongst all right holders, optimizing learning and increasing agency for all.
