The Additional Qualification Course: Equity and Inclusive Education Part 1 will critically explore, through inquiry and collaboration, the frameworks and strategies related to creating and sustaining an identity-affirming, equitable, and engaging learning environment for all students, especially those whose intersectional identities have been historically, and continue to be marginalized by systems of oppression. The course content is built on a foundational understanding of Universal Design for Learning, and Culturally Responsive and Relevant Pedagogy and 8 Guiding Principles.
Learners are offered multiple entry points to critically consider theoretical frameworks, pedagogical design, ministry and board policies, and explore what anti-oppressive education looks, sounds, and feels like to ensure equity of outcomes for all learners, K-12.
