FSL educators will enhance their learners' communicative skills and integrate UDL and CRRP frameworks to innovate French learning environments. This course invites educators to evaluate and improve their practices using project-based learning in a supportive, identity-affirming setting. Candidates will focus on empowering learners, honoring diverse experiences, and reducing barriers to learning. With a strong emphasis on research-informed, student-centered methods, the course explores CEFR-aligned models like action-oriented inquiry and problem-based learning. Featuring 125 hours of interaction and online activities, it offers multimodal teaching resources, strategies and accommodations to ensure equity for all learners.

Please note that FSL Part 1 includes specific French language proficiency requirements:

  • A certificate of qualification and registration with the Ontario College of Teachers
  • Qualifications in at least one of the following: Primary, Junior, Intermediate, Senior
  • Successfully complete a French language proficiency test (B2 CEFR Level minimum), or qualify for exemption
