The French as a Second Language Specialist course builds on Parts I and II, focusing on leadership in FSL education. It emphasizes anti-oppressive and collectivist approaches, enhancing communication skills and applying Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and Culturally Responsive and Relevant Pedagogy (CRRP) in FSL environments. Participants explore Ontario curriculum, policies, and frameworks, integrating French language with culturally inclusive pedagogies. They analyze Ministry initiatives, research-based language pedagogy, and program design, applying the inquiry cycle to innovate teaching across Core, Extended, and Immersion programs. The course fosters inclusive learning environments, develops leadership strategies, and engages stakeholders in FSL programs.
Prerequisites for Specialist:
Part 1 and Part 2 of the AQ (Or the teachable at the Intermediate or Senior level AND the Part 2 AQ), Certificate of Teaching Experience – 2 Years
Evidence of at least two (2) years of successful teaching experience
