Mathematics (Primary/Junior) Part 2 transcends traditional teaching methods by integrating anti-oppression principles to help educators create fair and inclusive math learning environments. Building on the foundation of Part 1, this course offers a dynamic platform for educators to engage in classroom-based action research that celebrates students' diverse identities while maintaining high mathematical expectations.
Participants will explore engaging modules and activities aligned with the 2020 Mathematics curriculum, focusing on Social-Emotional Learning, Mathematical Processes, and equitable assessment practices. This holistic approach ensures that each student is recognized and supported throughout their mathematical journey.
Collaborating with peers, educators will enhance diverse voices and experiences in math education. By studying and applying current, effective strategies, participants will work to dismantle oppressive structures and cultivate classrooms where every student has the opportunity to excel.
