Mathematics (Primary/Junior) Specialist, Part 3, elevates teachers' leadership in Primary/Junior math by integrating anti-oppression principles and aligning with board and Ministry initiatives.
Building on Parts 1 and 2, this course empowers participants to spearhead math initiatives focused on equity and inclusion. By exploring effective methodologies and the 2020 Mathematics curriculum, participants will support professional development and enhance students' math skills. Key to the course is the Math Achievement Action Plan, where participants will dive into various leadership roles, including coaching, mentoring, and professional learning design. Drawing on diverse experiences, educators will gain the expertise needed to lead K-6 math initiatives with a commitment to anti-oppressive practices.
PREREQUISITES: Math Part 2 and at least TWO school years of teaching experience, including at least one school year teaching the subject.
